Trick Or Treat Pails

If you're looking for a new trick or treating pail for your child, boy do I have the answer! I made this pail today and I can't tell you how much fun I had creating it.

First, buy a clean, never been used painting pail from your local home improvement store. I bought the gallon size pail for $5. They also have quart size pails which would make great party favor containers for a Halloween party or as a gift. (Sorry for the blurring picture. It sure was difficult trying to get a good shot of the pail with that strong reflection.)

Then, look through scrapbook paper and plot your design! I love to mix different colors and patterns. I also used some scrapbook punches/scissors to give a scallop or . . .

a bat wing edge to some of my papers.

Before taping your papers on the pail, map out your design one more time and be sure to measure the paper which will be near the pail's handles. You'll need to cut out notches in the paper to fit around the handles.

Also, get out some fun Fall/Halloween stickers. I added a border to my stickers by first placing them on some colored card stock. I then cut an edge around the stickers. Using scrapbooking dimensional stickers add some "pop" to your design by having your stickers stand out a bit.

Here, are some other Halloween stickers I found in my supplies. These stickers would be so fun on a child's trick or treating pail.

Now, start placing your paper on your pail with double sided tape.

Add those stickers.

And, some ribbon.

And, you're done! These pails will be perfect Halloween night. They will hold a lot of candy when trick or treating. I decided to make my pail for a friend as a gift. I filled the pail up with Fall baking supplies and added a tag to the handle reading, "Happy Fall Baking!"

All ready to go! Have fun and make one! These pails will definitely get you in the Fall spirit!
