Day of the Dead Cupcakes

Our school recently had a Fall Festival....
and that means Cake Walk.
A time honored tradition for any school carnival.
We donate some kind of cake or cupcakes each year
and have fun decorating them.

I went with a Day of the Dead theme this year.

Funtastic Friday #150

Wahoo! We're at party 150!
Thank you all for stopping by and linking up.
We love checking out your crafty inspiration and cooking ideas each week!
And thanks to you all for stopping by "the Hive" weekly for this link party.

I'm already starting to think about Thanksgiving....
we have family coming in town this year and that has got my wheels turning.
Maybe that's why Angie's turkey and pumpkin tic-tac-toe game caught my eye.

This painted rocks tic tac toe game is perfect for the kids' table at Thanksgiving!

But we still can't forget Halloween!
This week we had a lot to share....

Mad Scientist Trunk or Treat Car and Big Spooky Jar Labels Printable

Our church just had a fall get together.
Homemade chili and corn bread.
Carnival games for the kids and Trunk-or-Treating.

If you're not familiar with Trunk-or-Treating...
it's basically trick-or-treating but out of the back of your car.
Cars pull up in a parking lot with the trunks open and hand out candy
to the costumed kids coming by.
We love to decorate our trunk in some way.
This year we created a Mad Science Lab!

I wanted some big containers to hold our creepy, lab items.

Funtastic Friday #149

It's homecoming week here.
Just had our high school homecoming parade and we're gearing up for the big game on Friday.
Football, dinner, dances and mums!
We're also gathering ideas for Halloween parties like Mariah's
Mad Scientist Party. Stay tuned later this week for our own take on this theme.

We've got some creepy Halloween jar labels and lid toppers
that you can use for your next party too!

Funtastic Friday #148

Welcome back to another Funtastic Friday!
We are so glad you're here.
We're still in decorating mode for Fall and Halloween.
I really just need to set aside a few hours to get it all done,
instead, I seem to be just pulling out a little at a time.
And I keep finding these great ideas for some new items like Marie's sweater pumpkins.

Carrie has this fun idea to display her kid's costumes over the years.

Kristin is working on bringing Fall to her front door.

And I've got some tricks up my sleeve with our spooky Halloween mantle.

Now on to this week's party!
Can't wait to see all your Halloween and Autumn ideas!
