Kelly's Buttermilk Syrup

Years ago, my sister-in-law
introduced us to buttermilk syrup while on a visit out to their house.
I'm not really even a syrup person but,
Yum-o, I'd never had anything like it!

Funtastic Friday #286

I haven't had to work this week
so I've got my kids helping with projects.
We had gotten so busy that a lot of things
were put on the back burner!
Quarantine has given us that extra time...

One project for the week is cleaning out our craft/kid homework room.
It's also become a "catch all" for things we didn't have time to
find a place for or deal with.
Stacy's card catalog is a great storage solution.
Love that yellow she painted on it.
She gives you all the 411 for painting on metal
as one of our host picks this week.

Have you pulled out all your 4th of July decor?
If you've been aching to make something new and patriotic....

Try our patriotic table runner.
Sewn together with strips of any red, white and blue fabric.
I was excited with how this project turned out!

It's time to see more of your 4th of July ideas so...
Let's get right to the party!

Funtastic Friday #285

How is your week?
It seems like everyone has hit a point where they want to
get out of town.
A lot of camping or outdoor recreational sites
or even going to see a relative where able.
We're sticking around this month but
it's ok. Looking for some lazy days of summer!
The garden we planted during quarantine
has given us a few tomatoes already!

Flatbread toppings

Arlene's cheese and tomato focaccia recipe
is the perfect way to use them right from the garden.
I think I'm making this for lunch today!

If you're stay-cationing at home in June,
check out all our activities for teens/tweens and elementary kids.

I've always wanted to learn how to make candles.

make homemade soy candles

This might be the perfect summer to learn.
Joy's got the instructions and tips to make these sweet soy candles
I love that she uses mason jars for her candles--country chic!
On my list of summer DIY projects!

Gotta start thinking of Father's Day.
A few years back,
we made aprons for our own "grill master"
and created a meat rub with printable label.
You can find it  here}
