Funtastic Friday #159

I can't believe Christmas is already over!
Did December seem to fly by to you?
I'm hoping to slow down, read a book and sip some hot chocolate.
I've kind of been addicted to it this year.

peppermint hot cocoa

Randi has a fun recipe for white peppermint .
Or how about a cup of warm Wassail.

I hope you get a minute to do something quiet, just for YOU.

If you still have a New Year's Eve party to throw,
check out these ideas for a tinsel numbers banner & dessert toppers.

You should be able to get the supplies in the discounted Christmas section.

Now lets get to the last link party of 2017.
(but don't worry, there will be more in 2018!)

Are you having friends or family over for Christmas dinner?
We have all our girls in town and make our big dinner on Christmas Eve.

This year I'm a little crazy over black and white buffalo check.
And I'm using that for our table decorating.

Shelly has some table décor ideas that are my style.

Funtastic Friday #156

We're getting into the Christmas spirit!
Decorating, cookie exchanges and it even snowed today!
Next on our list is to get the tree.
We have always gotten a real tree,
even though I've been leaning towards artificial pre-lit.
This year the vote was to still go with the real thing.
What are your thoughts? Real or artificial?

How to flock a Christmas tree with a can of ceiling texture

Lindsey has got her tree up.
I loved her idea to inexpensively flock a tree with ceiling texture.
Genius move.

We've got a few more decorating ideas.

How about a white Christmas mantle.
Simple Nordic style.
How are you decorating?

Check out this week's party for more Christmas ideas!

Funstastic Friday #155

My daughter just went to a cookie exchange.
The season of sweet holiday treats has begun!
One of our favorites is fudge.
We actually save fudge making for Valentines day around here,
so Erin's fudge is a recipe to add to our collection of fudge flavors for February.
But we might just have to make a batch now to sample ;)

Are you a fudge lover? This delicious 5-ingredient Maple Pecan Fudge recipe will be right up your alley! Loaded with rich maple flavor and tender, brown sugar pecans, this maple fudge recipe is perfect for holiday candy making!
Are you wrapping and mailing presents yet?
I need to get things rolling.

We have our cute Christmas tags & wrapping ideas from last year.

These tags are printable! so you can make your own.
And stay tuned next week for how we're wrapping things up this year!

Now on to party #155!
We're looking for a few more bloggers to help us host Funtastic Friday. If you're interested, get in touch with me or one of the other hosts.

Funtastic Friday #153

Welcome to another week of Funtastic Friday!
Happy Thanksgiving--
are you ready?

These Smashed Sweet Potatoes are the perfect side dish for any occasion.  The sweet potatoes are roasted with cinnamon, a bit of chili powder and topped with toasted maple pecans!

These Smashed Sweet Potatoes just might be the right twist as a yam alternative to our dinner.
We've got all our kids and grandpa coming in town
and can't wait!
After the big dinner, friends are coming over for pie.
We'll be using our  leftover pie container to send some home,
if we have any left over :)

We're getting excited for Christmas too!
We'll start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving.

First to go out is our JOY board.
Check back in the upcoming weeks for more holiday décor, crafts and party ideas!

Funtastic Friday #152

Welcome back to the best link party on the web!
I love apple desserts in the Fall.
The smell of apples and all their deliciousness. :)
Stephanie shares this fun recipe for Easy Apple Pie Bites over at Lolly Jane.

Mini Apple Pies recipe, so good! Perfect fall dessert recipe, yum!

Looks delish!
And what a great idea to use half the apple to hold your filling and crust.
I've got to try these!

I'm starting to plan out Thanksgiving dinner.
 Which means PIE.
What pies to make this year?

Our own Apple Pie recipe will be part of the pie line up.

Texas Pecan Pie too!

Got to decide on a couple others.
What is your favorite pie?

Funtastic Friday #151

Hey all, hope you had a fun Halloween!
I'm so looking forward to Thanksgiving though.
I'll be switching out some decor this weekend
to get more of a Fall and Thanksgiving look.
Might even make some of Sarah's  super cute  flannel covered books.

DIY flannel covered books using repurposed thrift store hardcover books and upcycled flannel shirts from the thrift store by Sadie Seasongoods / www.sadieseasongoods.com

I'll be pulling out my Thankful Board and banner.
I just love Thanksgiving!

Day of the Dead Cupcakes

Our school recently had a Fall Festival....
and that means Cake Walk.
A time honored tradition for any school carnival.
We donate some kind of cake or cupcakes each year
and have fun decorating them.

I went with a Day of the Dead theme this year.

Funtastic Friday #150

Wahoo! We're at party 150!

We love checking out your crafty inspiration and cooking ideas each week!
And thanks to you all for stopping by "the Hive" weekly for this link party.

I'm already starting to think about Thanksgiving....
we have family coming in town this year and that has got my wheels turning.
Maybe that's why Angie's turkey and pumpkin tic-tac-toe game caught my eye.

This painted rocks tic tac toe game is perfect for the kids' table at Thanksgiving!

But we still can't forget Halloween!
This week we had a lot to share....

Mad Scientist Trunk or Treat Car and Big Spooky Jar Labels Printable

Our church just had a fall get together.
Homemade chili and corn bread.
Carnival games for the kids and Trunk-or-Treating.

If you're not familiar with Trunk-or-Treating...
it's basically trick-or-treating but out of the back of your car.
Cars pull up in a parking lot with the trunks open and hand out candy
to the costumed kids coming by.
We love to decorate our trunk in some way.
This year we created a Mad Science Lab!

I wanted some big containers to hold our creepy, lab items.
