Flavored Popcorn

This is a fun treat that is great for just about anything- birthday treat, teacher gift,  holiday snack, sports game treat, etc.   I used it for a party where we had 5 different flavors and guests could go around with their bag and scoop in each flavor.  Fun!  Whatever color you have with a theme, you can make up this popcorn to coordinate!  It is simple to make and you can use just about any flavor Jello has.

8 Cups popped popcorn
1/4 Cup (half a stick) Butter
3 Tbsp. Light Corn Syrup
1/2 Cup Light B rown Sugar
1 Pkg. (4 oz. serving size) Jello Gelatin (I used Cherry above)
Food Coloring

Preheat oven to 300 and line your baking pan.   Pop up your popcorn and set aside in a large bowl.  Place butter and syrup in a small saucepan.  Cook on low heat until butter is melted.  Add sugar and gelatin and stir until gelatin is completely dissolved.  Bring to boil on medium heat.  Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes more.  Mix in food coloring to make the color brighter.   Toss over popcorn and stir and coat well.  Spread on pan and bake for 10 minutes.  Cool on paper sacks and enjoy!
