HOPE Embroidery

hope.
A small word which holds such promise.

It's a new year and instead of resolutions,
a word or phrase theme seems to work for me.
Something motivating, to think about when you're trying to accomplish things
or facing challenges.
Last year's motto was Press Forward.
About midway through that year, hope started to come to my mind and became my new motto.

So we're staring out with HOPE for 2017!
(maybe mid-way we'll have a new theme?!)
HOPE is a word that lightens our load, can build bridges,
gives comfort, helps you aspire,
is full of expectation, encourages to make a plan,
has compassion, makes you stronger, puts faith to work,
and anticipates something better.
It does require action to fulfill those dreams you are hoping for.
So put your best foot forward and move towards those hopes!

As a visual reminder
I made this sweet little embroidery.

I'm using a 6" hoop, 10"x10" of fabric & Warm and Natural batting,
mint green floss #955, large eyed sewing needle and thin yarn in white.

Print off our free HOPE embroidery pattern
Trace it by placing your fabric on top and using a pencil or water soluble fabric pen.

Put the batting behind your fabric and place in hoop.
I used a single strand of the yarn and a large eyed needle to make the  french knots in the word HOPE.
And stitched two rows next to each other.
Lovely how it pops!

Use the thickness of all six of the mint floss strands to back stitch the vine.

After stitching, cut the warm and natural to the edge of the hoop.
Trim your fabric about 1/2" up from the hoop edge so you can fold over and hot glue to the hoop.
I found the cutest little pom pom trim to go around the hoop.

There you have it!

Just have HOPE!
