Home Reno Days #2-5

Renovation is in full swing!
Here is what's been accomplished on days 2-5.

It's taken a few days to get the thick Satlillo tile out.
And what dust!
The guys taped plastic around walls to block it out,
but we still have a layer over everything.

If you've done some home renovation...
doing one project always leads into having to do another.

I wasn't even thinking about how the tile went out my front door on the little porch area!
But that had to go too.
Now what to do with this entry way?
I think I have an idea.

We took out the little wall separating the kitchen dining with family room.
It really opens things up!
Tile was around the fireplace
and the mantle I never liked--way to big for that space,
now all gone.

After the old tile was out,
time for the new.

Love, love.

Each day more tiles is put in.
I just love it even more!

Reworking some wiring from the wall we took down.

Building out an area for upper cabinets.
Drywall and plaster going up.

Here is the other area that had an upper and lower cabinet that was next to the edge of the wall  (you can see the white cabinet outline on the concrete).
We're leaving the space open for better flow on this side of the room too.
At the very top of that corner, used to be a built out wall that went across to hold the hanging cabinet,
but that will be left open.  Along with a decorative shelf that was in the family room, removed and will be sheet rocked over.
That's it for now.
Stay tuned for more reno!
