Mini Halloween Cakes
Get your creativity on!
We recently hosted an activity for young adults
decorating their own mini cake!
You can come up with a theme to give them some direction
or just let them use their imagination.
Our group wanted a Halloween theme and of course had to make it a contest-
winner getting bragging rights!
Days in advance,
I started baking the cakes.
You can freeze the cakes and pull them out the morning of your activity.
When thawing, don't cover them, let them dry out a little for easier frosting.
I'm using 4" silicone cake molds that came with parchment paper inserts- which are key.
The parchment helps so much with getting the cakes out of the molds easily.
One cake mix will make 4 cakes.
I used chocolate, yellow and white mixes.
Guys, I baked about 60 cakes!
I put each cake on it's own cake board (make sure to get a size larger than the cake)
and then to help our guests transport the cakes around,
we put the cake with board on a paper plate.
We encouraged everyone to bring their own cake toppings, sprinkles, etc.
to make their cake unique.
Cups of frosting were provided that the kids could add color too.
And piping bags of frosting with different tips.
We used a buttercream frosting recipe.
They had a great time visiting and decorating.
They decided on having snacks to munch on while decorating-
bagels, cutie oranges, grapes and soda.
Some of the snacks ended up on the cakes!
Here are the end results:
Of course they wanted to make it a contest.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners won giant candy bars.
First place wet to this creepy monster!
This is a fun activity for any age.
Make it a part of your Halloween festivities, parties or stand-alone activities!
