Simple Easter Basket

The tradition of the Easter basket dates back to ancient cultures.

They are typically filled with treats and items with meaning for the giver and receiver.

Today we're putting together a simple basket.

These are perfect for mailing out to those you want to send some Easter cheer.

First find a small container.
It doesn't have to be a "basket".
I came across these cute fiber fruit baskets at the Target dollar spot a few years back.
But you can find them {here} and {here}

Get some "grass" or crinkle shred.
It's found everywhere at Easter time.
I usually get mine {here}, if you can find green.

Fill your baskets.

Now the fun part!
Fill them with goodies that the recipients will love.

Basket ideas:
Include edible and non-edible items.
Here, I put in mini granola bars and mini beef sticks,
to have some non-candy foods.
Beauty items, simple jewelry, gift cards little toys or playing cards.
When the kids were little,
we'd add kites, squirt guns, bubbles, a book and summer toys.
Of course, include some jellybeans and we have to have
our traditional Lindt bunny and lamb chocolates.

Slip your basket into a large cellophane bag.
Using a 6"x14"

I love using seam binding ribbon.
It can be hard to find, but you might find a color {here}
or on ETSY.
It's light weight and comes in all colors.
I mostly use 1/2" wide.

Aren't these fun!
I'm mailing them out to the kids
along with a handout listing the events during Holy Week,
scriptures and discussion questions they can ponder about Christ.
He is Risen!
I know they'll love getting some treats and a reminder about our Savior
during this Easter season.
Happy Easter to you all!
