Cheese Grits

This is a great side for an autumn meal or something new for Thanksgiving dinner.  The applesauce adds a surprising sweetness!

Cheese Grits

You Will Need:

1 Cup Quick Grits
3 1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Apple Sauce
1/4 Cup Cream
2 Cups Cheddar Cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Bacon

Bring 3 1/2 Cups of water to a boil.  Add in your applesauce and salt and pepper and return to boil.  Slowly add in your grits a little at a time whisking continually.  Reduce your heat and cover and cook until thickened, about 7 minutes.  Add in your cream and cheese and a little water if needed (if too thick) and allow to combine at low heat.   Serve with crumbled bacon and extra cheese on top if you like!
