CARTWHEEL- Quilt Block of the Month- October

Today we're putting together the Cartwheel block pattern.
Just 2 fabrics needed- 1/4 yard of each.
Find some fun Halloween prints!
The arrangement of the fabric strips,
feels like the motion of a cartwheel.

Cut 2 block of each fabric 5"x5".

Draw a line down the center of the back side of the lighter fabric.

Sew 1/4" on each side of the line and then cut down the line
to form 2 squares that have each fabric.
Iron your seam to one side on the back and iron front.
You'll have 4 blocks.

Arrange your blocks in this pattern:

You can see a slight overhang on one side of each block
when you arrange them in the cartwheel pattern.
Trim off this small amount of fabric to square it up.

Sew the top 2 pieces and bottom 2 pieces. Iron.

Sew the top and bottom strips together.
Iron your block.
Trim the same amount off each side to get an 8"x8" square.

Print the block pattern
